Leadership

Governance reform, financial stewardship, and community-building — across organizations that ranged from a student publication to a half-million-dollar athletic council. I don't just show up. I build systems that last after I leave.

Emory's first and only Black student publication. I came in as Treasurer and left as Executive Producer. In between, I expanded the magazine's financial capacity more than ever, led the team under the theme of Black Maximalism, and co-produced a release party and fashion show that put Black creatives at the center of campus culture.

Finance

Full ledger management and financial reporting. I brought transparency to a funding model that had never had it — and used that clarity to unlock more resources for editorial and events.

Production

Oversaw multi-concept editorial shoots, coordinated creative leads across editorial and social, and co-produced flagship events that pushed the magazine beyond its pages.

Legacy

BLACKSTAR* has been telling Black stories at Emory since 2011. My job was to honor that — and expand what it could be.

30+ teams. 1,250+ athletes. More than $515,000 in annual budget requests. I inherited an organization that had outgrown its own governing document — and spent my term rebuilding the foundation so it could actually hold the weight.

Reform

Led a full constitutional review. Merged the monetary code into the main governing document. Built clearer procedures for elections, succession, and accountability — the kind of infrastructure that outlasts any one term.

Finance

Revised funding caps, refined allocation formulas, and chaired 30+ budget hearings. The goal wasn't just balanced books — it was making sure clubs with genuine need had what they needed to compete.

Community

Launched an End-of-Semester Brunch, introduced graduation cords, and expanded the annual banquet. Leadership is policy. It's also showing people they belong.

I joined as Events Coordinator. Within a year I was President. I took a loosely organized team and built it into one of the fastest-growing club programs on campus — 77% membership growth in a single year, 100% retention, and a culture that actually stuck.

50 pgs SOP written from scratch
Operations

Managed a $39,500+ budget with real-time ledger tracking. Led a 10-member Executive Board. Orchestrated 8+ intercollegiate competitions annually and expanded practice time and carpool infrastructure to keep athletes showing up.

Systems

Wrote a 50-page Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so the next administration didn't have to figure it out from scratch. Restructured the constitution, launched Notion as a central hub, and built the first annual End-of-Year Report.

Culture

Introduced honor cords for graduating seniors. Launched a Media Day with professional portraits. Turned the banquet into a real tradition. Small things that made people feel like they were part of something.

I ran for SGA President. Over 550 students voted for me. Had I won, I would have been the first Black SGA President at Emory. I didn't win — but I challenged an unfair election process, took it to the Constitutional Council, and changed how elections will be run at Emory for years to come.

Campaign

Built a full visual identity and messaging platform around transparency and advocacy. Ran a real campaign — and earned real votes.

Reform

When the process wasn't fair, I didn't walk away. My appeal to the Constitutional Council succeeded and led to election reforms that will outlast my time at Emory.

Comms

On the Communications Committee, I helped manage the undergraduate-wide communication channel reaching 7,000+ students across Emory College, Goizueta, and the School of Nursing.

Summer 2022. American University. 80+ high school students navigating their first real taste of independence — and me responsible for making sure it went well. I facilitated leadership sessions, managed residential life, and chaperoned excursions across three Communications programs.

Facilitation

Led 20+ daily team discussions and leadership sessions across Digital Arts, Film Production, and Journalism programs — adapting in real time to different learning styles and energy levels.

Residential

As RA to 80+ students, I enforced policies and handled late-night crises — but mostly I tried to make sure teenagers felt safe and capable. Those are different jobs.

Community

The goal wasn't to run a program. It was to build a space where students discovered new skills — and new confidence in themselves.
